Some additional symptoms related to bruxism
Nighttime teeth grinding can lead to a range of problems,
especially if the bruxism goes untreated. Just some of
the consequences can include:
- Sleep disturbances and sleep deprivation.
- Dizziness or disorientation.
- Changes in facial appearance caused when teeth
become shorter as they’re ground down. Skin can
sag and the chin can recede, causing a more
aged appearance.
- Jaw muscles can overdevelop and create a
heavy, square jaw.
